The trailer for A Quiet Place: Part 2 has finally been released.

The full clip was teased last month ahead of its New Year’s Day release but now we have gotten a substantial look at the horror sequel to the hit 2018 film from director John Krasinski.

Emily Blunt – who is married to Krasinski in real-life – returns as now-widow Evelyn Abbott to protect her three children (the eldest two played by returning actors Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe) from the dangerous post-apocalyptic world they must now go outside in and where they can’t make a sound or risk death from monsters with some acute hearing.

The trailer shows incredibly tense scenes as the family must survive while on the move.

However, in addition to the deadly sound-detecting monsters, this time around the family faces a different kind of potential threat in the form of some new human characters, including one played by Irish actor Cillian Murphy who sports a beard in the film.

Fans of the Peaky Blinders star took to social media to share their excitement at his role in the horror sequel.

One fan wrote on Twitter: “Cillian Murphy with beard and tattooed in a quiet place 2 trailer already owns 2020”

Another said “cillian murphy with beard” and added a heart-eyes emoji.

Meanwhile, another wrote: “Didn’t care for this but I see Cillian Murphy and now I do”

Another fan wrote: “Just saw the trailer for #AQuietPlace Part II. Cillian Murphy once again in a post-apocalyptic scenario. And once again “the biggest enemy of man is the other men” theme.”

Finally, one summed up the general feeling: “i’m late but cillian murphy with a beard.. what a moment”

Not too long now!

A Quiet Place: Part 2 is released in UK cinemas on March 20, 2020.
