Captain America actress Mollie Fitzgerald has been charged with second-degree murder after she allegedly stabbed her mother to death.
The 38-year-old was arrested Tuesday in Olathe, Kansas.
Fitzgerald was charged 11 days after her mother, – 68-year-old Patricia “Tee” Fitzgerald – was found dead inside her home in Olathe on the 20th of December.
Mollie Fitzgerald was charged and booked into the Johnson County Jail on $500,000 bond and she is due in court today.
According to reports from TMZ , police responded to a call of an armed disturbance, and Mollie was contacted on the scene and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Authorities do not have a motive behind the stabbing murder.
Fitzgerald played Stark girl in the 2011 Marvel film, and is also listed as a director and producer of some low-budget short films, including 2017’s “The Creeps.”
She called working on the Marvel motion picture as “one of the best experiences of my life.”
The film, starring Chris Evans in the titular role, made over $370 million at the worldwide box office.
Gary Hunziker, the brother of Patricia Fitzgerald, said he didn’t know many details surrounding her death.
“We were shocked,” he told the Kansas City Star .
“It doesn’t matter the circumstances — the loss of a sister is what it’s all about.”
Patricia will be buried on Friday at the Divine Mercy Parish in Gardner, Kansas.
She is survived by husband of 46 years Terry Fitzgerald.
