Dancing On Ice’s Caprice’s devastating diagnosis amid fears she would ‘leave babies without mum’

Dancing On Ice star Caprice Bourret was thrilled when she became a mum to her two gorgeous boys.

It had been a rocky road to motherhood for the model and businesswoman.

She had suffered a devastating miscarriage and was left heartbroken when three rounds of IVF failed.

So when doctors warned her as she approached her 41st birthdat that the uterine lining of her womb was too thin to support a pregnancy, Caprice started to look at other options.

Giving up on her dream of being a mum was not one of them, however, so she and her her millionaire partner Ty Comfort decided to use a surrogate, who fell pregnant with their twins at the end of 2012.

Just four weeks later, unknown to the star, she fell pregnant naturally herself while she was competing in the ITV celeb reality show, Splash!

Caprice said: “I did test after test after test because I just couldn’t believe it.”

The model credits her decision to use a surrogate as the reason she conceived just weeks later because she “stopped worrying and let go”.

In August 2013 her surrogate gave birth to a baby boy, then three weeks later, Caprice delivered her second son via cesarean section.

She produced enough milk to breast feed both Jett and Jaxx and changed one of their birthdays to raise them as twins.

Caprice also has no intention of revealing which boy was carried by the surrogate.

She explained: “They are genetically, biologically mine and I don’t want to make a big deal about it and say this one came from a gestational carrier, this one did not.

“The way I look at it, I just had a babysitter for one of them. I love them both exactly the same and I am so, so thankful for each of them.”

But then, when her boys were still toddlers, Caprice was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2017.

She told the Daily Mail: “My diagnosis was the scariest time in my life. My first thought was for my two little boys, I had no idea what was in store and I feared I’d leave them without a mum.”

Thankfully, the tumour was benign, but it was dangerously fast growing and surgeons had to operate for more than seven hours to remove it.

Since then the busy mum-of-two has spent more time with her family and reduced her work commitments so she can devote more of herself to her sons.

Caprice said: “My family means everything to me, I’m going to stick around until I’m 90 because my kids needs me.”
