EastEnders fans have spotted a vital clue that proves Keanu Taylor will return for revenge.
Keanu, who is in fact alive, was finally reunited with mum Karen Taylor tonight before he disappeared for good.
During an emotional reunion, Keanu explained that he had to leave the country to escape the Mitchells.
Karen pleaded with her son to stay and claimed they could form a plan, but Keanu insisted he had to leave without seeing his daughter or unborn child.
However, EastEnders viewers are convinced that Keanu will be coming back to Walford much sooner than anyone would have expected.
Vowing he would get revenge, Keanu told his mum: “I promise you this. One day they will get what’s coming to them. But until then I need to disappear.”
When Karen claimed they could find a way to protect him, Keanu replied: “I’m not saying things won’t be different in the future, but for now it’s the way it has to be.”
Many are hoping that Keanu will return for the show’s 35th anniversary later this year.
Taking to Twitter to discuss Keanu’s return, one viewer tweeted: “Goodbye Keanu….for now. I’ve a sneaky suspicion you’ll be back! Revenge time”
“At least they’re leaving the door wide open for Keanu. Future Mitchell revenge,” added another.
A third said: “Feel bad for Karen we finally seen the airport scene, Keanu will return for revenge in a few years hope he gets his babies in the summer.”
“I reckon Keanu is going to spend this year rebuilding himself into a much tougher character who will triumphantly return next Christmas to reclaim his place in the Square, shack up with Sharon and baby and seek revenge on Phil and Ben, “said a fourth.
The theories could come true as the door has been left open for actor Danny Walters to return to Albert Square in the future.
In a statement announcing his exit, the actor said: “It has been a joy to play Keanu Taylor for the last two and half years.
“I have been blessed to work with the most fantastic creative team and I will miss them and my fellow actors immensely.
“EastEnders will always hold a special place in my heart and I will continue to be an avid fan.”
EastEnders viewers were close to tears while watching Keanu’s heartbreaking exit.
Emotional Keanu revealed his torment over never being able to hold daughter Peggy again, or meet his unborn child with Sharon.
Karen promised to tell her grandchildren that their father was “brave, kind, loyal and courageous”.
When Karen admitted she blamed herself, Keanu replied: “Don’t you ever think that you let me down. This is all on me. You’ve always been there for me through thick and thin. The sacrifices you made. Dead end jobs. You’re the best mum.”
After one final hug, Karen said: “You just remember where’ve you re whatever you’re doing you are always loved. Proper deep down to the bone loved.”
After thanking Martin for saving his life, Keanu walked off to the departure gate in his final scene.
