EastEnders star Steve McFadden has signed up to appear at techno raves across the country.
The 60-year-old actor who plays iconic hardman Phil Mitchell in the BBC One soap is set to join students at the hardcore dance events and maybe even show them some dance moves later this month.
Tickets for the events featuring McFadden – which include a night at Liverpool’s energetic Electrik Warehouse – will cost fans only £3.
An insider at the club said to the Daily Star : “Having Phil Mitchell agree to appear at a tech rave is bonkers.
“Fans won’t believe their eyes. We hear Steve is quite the party animal though. Apparently, he can throw some serious shapes on the dance floor.”
The Albert Square legend is also set to appear at the wild club nights in cities such as Leeds across the coming weeks.
The unexpected tour comes after it was revealed that Steve, a father of five children, will be taking a short break away from Albert Square as the actor takes part in pantomime season.
Steve’s EastEnders alter-ego has been at the centre of a dramatic recent storyline which saw him discover that his daughter Louise’s (Tilly Keeper) boyfriend Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) was the father of his wife Sharon Mitchell’s (Letitia Dean) unborn baby.
The explosive plot reached a dramatic turning point last week as Keanu faked his own death and Walters departed the soap.
Despite the on-screen drama, a spokesman for McFadden’s agent has also revealed that the grandad has plans to keep the raves up throughout 2020.
The source revealed: “He does like connecting with his fans and he does like doing appearances. “He has allowed so many appearances every month as he really likes to see his fans.”
Sounds like Phil Mitchell fans will not want to miss this!
EastEnders continues on Thursday on BBC One.
