George Michael ’s sister Melanie Panayiotou will reportedly be buried next to his unmarked grave in north London.
Melanie, 55, died on Christmas Day exactly three years after her superstar brother.
Now the Daily Star Sunday reports she will be laid to rest next to George and their mother at Highgate Cemetery in north London.
The singer’s grave does not have a headstone as the family were concerned about it turning into a shrine for fans.
There are still reportedly no plans to honour the singer with a marker.
A source told the publication: “George still doesn’t have a gravestone three years after his death, and it’s going to stay that way.
“Now that they will also have to visit the family plot to mourn Melanie, they don’t want to be wading through fans and their tributes just to pay respect to the growing number of their tragic loved ones.
“George’s family saw how his home became a cluttered shrine due to fans crowding outside it and leaving flowers and other tributes, and they want his grave to remain clear of that sort of thing.
“They want it to be the place he and now his poor sister can really rest in peace.” George’s family has paid for extra security at his grave.”
The only indication about the location of George’s grave is a small heart plaque, next to his mum’s headstone at the cemetary.
It reads: “Dear cousin, Beautiful memories treasured forever of the happy times we spent together.”
George was found dead on Christmas Day 2016 at the age of 53.
He left the bulk of his fortune to Melanie and his other sister Yioda, 57.
