Radio presenter Matthew Wright and talk show queen Trisha Goddard clashed during a heated debate on the royals.
Matthew claimed he has been branded ‘racist’ for his criticism of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for spending public money but not giving them “the thing they want”.
He pointed out the “bizarre disconnect” between the royals and the public – claiming it was “a set of rules for them and set of rules for everyone else”.
But Dancing On Ice star Trisha hit back by slamming the “vitriol” towards the couple, including “racist and misogynistic” abuse.
Matthew argued that Harry and Meghan don’t have the right to lecture the public on environmental issues when they are constantly jet setting.
He said: “That they love lecturing people on saving the planet, you know every drop of water is precious, don’t take airplane travel and yet they’ll happily fly off to Canada, come back again.
“It just seems to me, there’s a set of rules for them and set of rules for everyone else.”
Interjecting, Trisha blasted the “vitriol” towards Harry and Meghan before pointing out that many news sites employ people to “take off racist and misogynistic stuff”.
Matthew asked: “You don’t think taking £20m of public money and then not giving the public the thing the public wants?”
Firing back with another question, Trisha replied: “So then you call them a racist then for that?”
Matthew claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not giving the public what they want.
He explained: “I’ve seen on Twitter that when I raise issues like that. When I say taking £20 million from the public to provide security for your wedding and then feeling no burden to provide the public with any photos of the baby – then I get called a racist.”
Wanting to stop the tensions from rising, Phil quickly replied: “Reverse that now.”
Before swiftly oving on to the next topic, Holly added: “I think we clearly know what is racist language and what isn’t. Let’s move on.”
