Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt’s Golden Globes reunion was almost as big a talking point as his supporting actor win for Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.
Especially when Brad addressed it on the red carpet, telling reporters: “I’ll run into Jen… she’s a good friend.”
Joking about Jen’s recent Instagram debut of with a Friends reunion snap, he joked: “It’s the second most important reunion of her year… that was a play on Friends.”
And inside the ceremony, Jen, 50, showed her support for her ex husband, smiling and clapping wildly when he received his award before they both headed to the same after-party.
Needless to say, fans are gagging for the single stars to reunite. And while there is no indication that anything romantic is going on, they’ve certainly grown closer since his 2016 split from Angelina Jolie .
Not only did Brad, 56, attend Jen’s 50th birthday party last February, but he’s also said to have been one of the first to arrive and the last to leave her Christmas party in December.
He joined 50 other guests including Jen’s former Friends co-star Lisa Kudrow, Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson, his ex Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, and Jennifer’s Morning Show co-star Reese Witherspoon.
And his attendance was reportedly the result of the “bond” they’ve forged almost 15 years after announcing their divorce amid rumours of an attraction between Brad and his Mr and Mrs Smith co-star Angelina Jolie.
A source previously told Hollywood Life: “They’ve realised what’s important in life and since they shared so much love for each other it’s such a nice thing for them both to have this kind of close friendship again.
“They trust each other and love the fact that they have someone who has their back, especially in Hollywood where trust and real friends are at a minimum.”
However, after their friendly Golden Globes display, others have suggested they remain distant acquaintances who only bump into each other at awards and big showbiz parties.
An insider told TMZ they share a lot of mutual friends but do not see each other outside of the main events.
Despite being linked to Arrested Development star Alia Shawkat, the pal insisted Brad is currently single.
Meanwhile, Jen was recently spotted holidaying with The Morning Show director Will Speck, 49, although they appear to have been part of a larger group.
She was previously married to actor Justin Theroux but they divorced in 2017 amid reported rows about whether to base themselves in his beloved New York or her home city of Los Angeles.
And last year she opened up about her two marriages and why she refuses to see them as failed.
“My marriages, they’ve been very successful, in [my] personal opinion. And when they came to an end, it was a choice that was made because we chose to be happy, and sometimes happiness doesn’t exist within that arrangement anymore,” she told Elle magazine.
“Sure, there were bumps, and not every moment felt fantastic, obviously, but at the end of it, this is our one life and I would not stay in a situation out of fear. Fear of being alone. Fear of not being able to survive. To stay in a marriage based on fear feels like you’re doing your one life a disservice.
“When the work has been put in and it doesn’t seem that there’s an option of it working, that’s okay. That’s not a failure.”
