Inside Love Island’s Shaughna Phillips’ four stone weight loss after gym ‘addiction’

Love Island star Shaughna Phillips, 25, has been a popular addition to this year’s villa in South Africa.

Her no-nonsense attitude and unsuccessful attempts to play it cool with Callum Jones have made her a fan favourite for the series.

The blonde beauty hails from London where she works as a democratic service advisor.

A look on her Instagram will reveal Shaughna is proud of the fact she shed a whopping four stone ahead of her TV stint.

The eyes of the nation are on her every bikini-clad move right now, but the confident Shaughna also flaunts her bod whenever possible in the stunning holiday photos her social media is peppered with.

She also makes no secret of her weight loss and has even shared side by side comparisons from her heaviest to her slimmest.

Shaughna shrank to a teeny tine frame during her weight loss, but now looks a healthy and happy weight – and her confidence is oozing.

In November, 2019, Shaughna posted a photo charting her weight loss journey from 2016 to 2017, and then finally 2019.

The first photo, taken in her underwear, shows a curvier looking Shaughna as she posed in the mirror.

The second one shows a drastically thinner Shaughna, wearing a black underwear set and showing off her teeny tiny waist and abs.

She has a pronounced thigh gap in the mirror selfie, clearly way ahead in her transformation.

The final photo is another mirror selfie in underwear, still looking very slim but not as skinny as the previous photo – instead she looks incredibly toned and healthy – not to mention tanned.

Her newfound confidence is evident from the changes to her posture to her smiling expression visible in the final photo.

She captioned the post with her mantra: “Consistency, not perfection”.

In the Love Island villa in Cape Town, Shaughna has also opened up to her cast mates about her weight loss.

Last week, she chatted to new boy Connagh Howard, and said: “I lost four stone, so back then I was addicted to going to the gym, I loved it.”

Her dedication to getting fit and exercising has yielded amazing results.

And in August 2018, Shaughna posted another side by side comparison, earlier on her weight loss journey. The first picture shows the reality star just as she began her transformation.

Clad in her gym kit, she looks confident as she poses for a mirror selfie, flaunting her curves in a sports bra and tight lycra leggings.

The second photo shows her looking much slimmer, wearing a sexy low-cut swimsuit and sandals with her hair and make up in its usual glamorous style.

She wrote: “If I was doing this for you then I have nothing left to prove, this for me though”.

Her journey certainly wasn’t over at that point – as later on the same month she posted another photo in a red bikini, looking slimmer than ever, with her ribs visible.

Now, its clear Shaughna has found her healthiest, happiest weight, where she looks beautiful and comfortable and, most importantly, feels good about herself.
