Jessica Simpson has dished the dirt on her divorce from Nick Lachey and the John Mayer split.
Now the unlucky-in-love actress, 39, has shared the intimate details behind her divorce and break up in her new memoir Open Book which will be released in February.
Gossip swept through the showbiz circuit when Jessica and Nick went public with their divorce after nearly seven years as a couple.
They transformed their lives into a reality television show Newlyweds just a year into their marriage after tying the knot in October 2002.
But their love story come crashing down in November 2005.
At the time, Jessica claimed it was their “anxieties” about their high-profile careers which drove them to divorce because they were “feeding off each other”.
Now the blonde bombshell has shared what really went on behind closed doors.
The television sensation confessed the couple weren’t even talking to each other when she asked her husband for a divorce.
She wrote: “I later heard that he told the press he was blindsided. I don’t know how. At that point we weren’t even speaking to each other.
“Maybe he was shocked that I stood up for myself. I don’t think he ever thought I would take the leap.”
She went on: “We had been together almost seven years when I told Nick, ‘I think I want a divorce’.”
Nick confided he was told his marriage was over in a 2006 interview with The Rolling Stones magazine.
Just nine months later, Jessica fell for John who she claimed was “obsessed” with her “sexually and emotionally”.
They had first crossed paths at a Grammy party in February 2005 and soon after she split from her husband, John made his move.
Their love was on and off for a year from August 2006 but the I Wanna Love You Forever hitmaker said her love broke off with her over email.
However, she remarked the spark in their romance really fizzled out when John left her red-faced over remarking she was a “sexual napalm” in a Playboy interview.
Jessica admitted it was “easy” for her to “walk away” from their relationship but she did appreciate John had since apologised for the comment.
She said: “He thought that was what I wanted to be called… I was floored and embarrassed that my grandmother was actually gonna read that.
“A woman and how they are in bed, is not something that is ever talked about. It was shocking…
“I erased his number. He made it easy for me to walk away.”
