Love Island’s host Laura Whitmore said Caroline Flack has been “incredibly gracious” about her taking her job.
Flack, 40, stepped down from her position as the Winter Love Island host after she was charged with assault by beating.
An alleged row broke out between Flack and her boyfriend Lewis Burton, 27, in her north London home which led to her arrest and charge.
Laura was named as her replacement on the Love Island series and she will join her voice over boyfriend Iain Stirling in South Africa for filming.
The presenter complimented her Love Island predecessor as a “brilliant host” and she opened up about her hopes on doing her “justice” with her own appearance on the show.
Also, the Irish beauty shed some light on Caroline as she shared the star was receiving a lot of support from friends and family amid her courtroom battle.
She told The Sun: “I know she’s got a strong network of people around her who are supporting her throughout all of this.”
Laura added: “She has been incredibly gracious and supportive of me taking on the role for the winter series.
“She’s a brilliant host and I just hope that I can give the role the justice it deserves while she is taking some time off.”
Caroline had already broken her silence on Laura being made the host on social media.
She wrote: “I’m glad it’s Laura… She loves the show as much as I do…” (sic)
Laura will jet off to South Africa alongside her man ahead of her debut on Winter Love Island.
Winter Love Island will hit our screens for the first time on January 12.
The summer version is always filmed in Mallorca every year from June through until August.
But the winter series is being shot in Cape Town because of the scorching hot sunshine in the chillier months.
