New Love Island host Laura Whitmore may be in the spotlight – but she will be trying to keep out of the sun.
The pale-skinned star, 34, prefers to stay in the shade so replacing pal Caroline Flack on the dating show in the sunshine may prove challenging.
Laura said: “I’m Irish, so I can’t do the sun, really. I’m not allergic to it.
“I wear an SPF 50 as I am quite fair. I’d rather be fair than look like a lobster.”
Laura is replacing Caroline, 40, on the new series of Love Island, which will be filmed in South Africa next month.
Caroline was axed from the show after being charged with assaulting her boyfriend Lewis Burton.
The Surjury, a Channel 4 programme about plastic surgery that she was also due to present, may now be canned, too.
Some Love Islanders are big fans of cosmetic surgery – unlike Laura.
She said: “I have seen so many of those scary things where it goes wrong so I wouldn’t touch it.
“I don’t like the idea of Botox and needles, but ask me in 10 years and I may have changed my mind.”
In court earlier this month, Caroline denied attacking her boyfriend.
The couple are still together but she has been banned from seeing him over Christmas and New Year.
Laura, who is dating Love Island narrator Iain Stirling, will also host spin-off show, AfterSun.
She and Caroline have previously been described as “frenemies”, as they often compete for the same jobs.
