Thousands of Brits tune into Love Island year after year – but not new Islander Ollie Williams.
The 23-year-old landowner and heir to the Lanhydrock estate, who rates himself ten out of ten, has revealed that he is not a fan of the show and has never even watched it.
Dishing ahead of the launch show, the hunk has told that he ‘doesn’t know much’ about the hit series and when he found out he was chosen to star he didn’t ‘binge-watch’ any former seasons because ‘he couldn’t find any’ of the episodes – despite them being on the ITV hub.
Speaking to The Mirror, the posh lad openly admitted: “I haven’t watched any series.
“I haven’t binge-watched it. I couldn’t find any. I have watched a few YouTube videos. I don’t really know the show in and out.”
Reflecting on why he applied for the show he has never seen, he told: “I applied. It was my first time.
Sharing on the moment he decided to go for it, he continued: “I turned around to myself after getting home from work mucking out the cows and after looking at my hands covered in blisters [and] I thought…
“Eventually I will take over the estate at home but until then I will be doing a lot of this work and although I enjoy it I am a bit bored so I thought I will go off and do something a bit different for a while.”
“I didn’t expect to get in. I thought it would be a bit of a giggle.”
He also told that he already has a link to Love Island as he is good pals with 2019 Islander Lucie Donlan’s sister Emily, who he gushed he “knows very well.”
Ollie also discussed his high hopes for his time in the villa as he is hoping to springboard a career in TV – as a horse-racing presenter.
Wishing to follow in former Love Island star Chris Hughes’ footsteps, he said: “I’ve realised it gets you a bit of a platform and I’m really into horse-racing.
“Dad has got a few race horses. TV and horse racing… Maybe go down the Chris Hughes route and do some presenting.”
