Maura Higgins is hoping that competing in Dancing On Ice will give her a “skater’s bum”.
The Irish beauty and former grid girl has confessed admitted that she is eagerly anticipating the results of her training regime for the changes to her physique.
Discussing whether she has her own personal fitness goals, Maura revealed to the Press Association : “No, because I’m not a fitness girl. But I’m excited about getting fit, because I’ve never been fit.
“I could do with a skater’s bum.”
She explained: “I was quite nervous the first time I did live TV, when I appeared on This Morning offering agony aunt advice, but this will be the scariest thing I’ve done.
“I’m very competitive and I definitely want to win. Or just get very far, I do want to do well.
“I’d be raging if I spent so much time training and then get voted off in the first couple of weeks. I won’t like that.”
Six contestants will be performing on this weekend’s show, following on from the six who made their debut last weekend.
Model and businesswoman Caprice Bourret, ITV presenter Lucrezia Millarini, blind Paralympic champion Libby Clegg, Former Blue Peter presenter Radzi Chinyanganya, and retired footballer Kevin Kilbane will join Maura in performing for the first time on Sunday.
Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, and Ashley Banjo are back as judges, with Jason Gardiner now replaced by former Doctor Who star John Barrowman.
Despite having to face the judges, Maura is as feisty as ever when it comes to how to approach them.
“I couldn’t give a damn,” she said.
“I’ll give it back. I think criticism is good because it makes you work harder for the following show. Everyone needs it.”
We look forward to some straight-talking from her!
Dancing On Ice airs on Sundays on ITV.
