Irish stunner Maura Higgins is best known for being one of Love Island’s favourite contestants in the history of the show.
The 28-year-old shot to fame after starring on this summer’s Love Island, becoming hugely popular with viewers for her witticisms, cutting comments and her unapologetic attitude when it comes to going after what she wanted.
Before entering the villa, Maura hilariously admitted that her type on paper simply depended on if the man has a pulse or not due to the fact she was so sick of being single and because she much preferred to be in a stable, long-term relationship.
“I would go for personality more than anything. I would definitely look for someone who is really honest and a very confident guy, but not arrogant and definitely someone who makes me laugh. They have to have banter, without a doubt.”
Her turn-off is, “Arrogance and someone who acts different around their friends. I can’t bear that!”
The 28-year-old said that she would be a “loyal” partner, having never cheated before but, sadly, has had it happen to her.
“If I’m in a relationship with someone, I’m loyal. That’s it. I’ve never cheated. I’ve been cheated on. I will trust someone until they do something wrong to me, I’m very much like that,” she said.
“I think if you’ve put a label on something, boyfriend and girlfriend, then you just don’t go there. If there is a girl and a guy in there and they’ve put a label on it, I would never go there and I would hope that no one would do it to me.”
Her popularity with viewers back home in Ireland and across Britain led to her finishing fourth with fellow villa star and now boyfriend, Curtis Pritchard.
The couple have been an item since leaving the villa way back in the summer, but have said they want to take things slowly as they attempt to adjust to life outside of Love Island.
Whilst on the show, Maura was taught how to move by Curtis who is well-known as Dancing With The Stars professional dancer.
And now, Maura is hoping that Curtis can teach her more moves, even though she will be on the ice.
Before entering the famous villa, Maura who hails from County Longford in Ireland, worked as grid girl and a successful model.
Her modelling career has taken her to several high-profile, glamorous shoots, including one with One Direction star Liam Payne, and it’s also seen her mingling with A-Listers in both the Emerald Isle and the UK.
Maura also previously worked as a ring girl before Love Island and there’s no denying that she made waves as soon as she walked into the villa with a steady eye on professional boxer Tommy Fury, who had been getting close to Molly Mae Hauge before her explosive arrival.
Although herself and Tommy shared a couple of sexually charged moments together, ultimately, the 28-year-old reached the final with her beau Curtis while fellow stars Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea were crowned as the winning couple.
Since leaving the island, Maura’s success has continued and she has gained several endorsement deals, including becoming a brand ambassador for BooHoo, an agony aunt on This Morning and she has even begun a podcast which proves to be an absolute hit with fans.
The brunette bombshell revealed she was taking part in this years Dancing On Ice with Michael Barrymore on This Morning as she admitted that she’s only skated on ice once in her life.
She said: “I’ve skated once in my life for fun, so I’ve no experience at all. I’m up for the challenge. I’m more excited than scared. I’m competitive so I think that will drive me.”
Maura is set to be partnered with Alexander Demetriou, from Blackpool who only joined the show last year.
