The Mandalorian star Gina Carano has revealed she passed out twice while filming a scene where she was choked by Baby Yoda in the hit Star Wars TV show.
In season one, a bounty hunter is tasked with protecting a 50-year-old baby that is of the same species as iconic Star Wars character, Yoda.
And over the course of the first eight episodes, viewers see the tiny green alien begin to experiment with it’s ‘Force’ powers – using telekinesis to lift huge objects and healing mortal wounds.
Towards the end of season one, Gina’s character (who is a friend and ally to the baby and his protector) engages in an arm wrestle with Pedro Pascal’s Mandalorian character Din Djarin – prompting Baby Yoda to use lethal force against Cara after mistaking her for attacking his protector.
Cara is then seen choking and clutching her own throat until Din realises the baby is telekinetically attacking her and intervenes to stop him.
During an impromptu Q&A, Gina revealed she went slightly too method while playing the scene.
“How was it learning you would be Yoda’s first force victim?” a fan asked the actress.
“I’m going to tell you something just between us. I legitimately passed out twice while shooting that scene. So.. ya.. it was pretty great,” Gina replied.
“That little ones force choke is no joke,” she added.
She then gave more detail on the moment she collapsed on set while Pedro and co-star Nick Nolte’s character Kuiil looked on.
“I came to while seated & Mando & Kuiil were waiting for me to say something cause they didn’t know I went out aaand then it happened again,” she wrote.
In a further tease to fans, Gina went on to suggest the character wildly named Baby Yoda by fans actually has a name of it’s own.
“I know your real name,” she replied to a Twitter account pretending to be the character.
