Forget about “I was Miss England” and “I used to be in Blazin’ Squad”, this new crop of Love Island have more famous connections than ever.
These Islanders are out to put those who exclaimed “my dad’s Danny Dyer” and “my brother’s Tyson Fury ” to shame with their claims to fame.
The show is due to kick off on Sunday, January 12, with a gang of single lads and lasses headed into a villa in Cape Town, South Africa.
Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s star connections.
Sophie Piper is the long-lost sister of The Saturdays star Rochelle Humes.
Rochelle’s father Mark Piper walked out on her when she was three, and he went on to father three more children Lili, 24, Sophie, 21, and Jake, 23, with a new partner.
Oddly enough, the family was sort of brought together again by Love Island star Kem Cetinay.
“He was chatting away and said, ‘I got to talk to you… as soon as I became a celeb, I promised my friend Lili that I would talk to you as she’s your sister on your dad’s side’,” Rochelle told Giovanna Fletcher on her Happy Mum Happy Baby Podcast.
“I knew of her and met up with her when I was five, but it was so complicated as they were a lot younger and my dad wasn’t involved,” she continued.
“On a drunken night out, Kem asked me if he could give her my number… you know something that sobers you up instantly.
“She WhatsApped me and I didn’t reply till the morning because I thought, ‘I need to be sober for this’.”
Lili and Rochelle arranged to go for dinner with Sophie and Jake, but Rochelle was so scared that she took Marvin for support.
“They all have each other. I am the weird older sister they feel they know because they’ve seen me on TV.”
Her fears were short lived and she’s since built up close relationships with her siblings.
Paige Turley has not one, but two, claims to fame.
The 22-year-old used to be going out with Somebody You Loved hitmaker Lewis Capaldi.
She said: “We went out when we were younger, I was about 17 or 18. We were together for about a year. It ended really amicably and we’re still pals.”
Paige also appeared on Britain’s Got Talent as a solo singer when she was 14 years old.
She said: “I got to the semi-finals. I sang Skinny Love by Birdy.”
Twins Eve and Jess Gale also have a claim to fame, well, one of them does.
Eve says that Kylie Jenner’s ex-boyfriend Tyga once slid into her DMs after spotting her at an event.
She said: “We were both at an event and I posted an Instagram story tagging him. He then messaged me afterwards and we spoke on WhatsApp.
“Then when me and Jess were in Ibiza, he was there again. He asked me to meet him but we arrived the day he left.
“Pop Smoke, the R ‘n’ B rapper, messaged me too.”
Mike Boateng also reckons he’s got a claim to fame.
Before heading into the villa, the police officer said: “I know a few footballer friends from my football days. Dominic Calvert-Lewin played with me at Sheffield United. My brother, Samuel, was on The Apprentice a few years ago.”
And Ollie Williams has the strangest claim to fame of all.
When asked the question, he said: “My father is Lord of the Manor of Lanhydrock. The family title is Viscount Clifden. When my father passes away or abdicates, as the eldest child, I will take on the titles and the estate. I’m the heir of Lanhydrock.”
